For years now, Ancona has provided the setting for the Adriatic and Mediterranean Festival, which takes place between the end of August and the beginning of September: from the church of Jesus to Mole Vanvitelliana, from the Arch of Trajan to the Muse Theatre, from the Synagogue to the port... music, poetry, art, cinema and exclusive appointments with artists from the Adriatic and Mediterranean basin.

As for the musical background, there are many quality jazz festivals throughout the summer, such as the Ancona Jazz Festival in July or the Offagna Jazz Festival in August.

Lovers of religious music should not miss the religious music festival in Loreto, which is held every spring, nor the organ music festival during the summer months.

IN THEATER

Villa Nappi is a beautiful historical home that is situated in the town Polverigi, an inland village of the Ancona area. Every summer, during the month of July, the festival of figurative arts called In Teatro, in theatre, is hosted here. This event has become a must for all contemporary theatre fans.

POETRY

When thinking of the hills of the Marche region, it is impossible not to refer to the descriptions of the Leopardi era: a literary tradition that is still alive and represented by various literary festivals.La punta della lingua,the tip of the tongue, is a poetry festival held in June between Ancona and Portonovo, not to be missed, where renowned and emerging authors of the current literary scene are free to express themselves.

THE DIFFUSO MUSEUM

The Diffuso Museum is part of an innovative project that has been overseen by the city of Ancona. It was born out of the desire to bring out the numerous characteristics of the city by establishing a path that unwinds through the streets, squares and monuments.
